This is an honest review from a local resident and I don't normally write reviews. I needed a key cut for my Toyota Tacoma and thought it'd be better to go to a dedicated "Lock & Key" store and also support a local business. Beats Ace, right? This is where I went wrong... TL;DR. They yell/swear at customers. Don't bother escalating to management. Call you names. Please avoid the associate Paul. Paul's manager needed to tell him to back off because he was disgruntled. Please take your business elsewhere. Every retailer & local locksmith obviously doesn't guarantee you a perfect, nonetheless, working key. This is what I confirmed & understood as another associate stated that. I asked a nonchalant question "you folks do a better job and have better machines than Ace, right? "Yes", the associated replied. Paul ended up attempting to cut my blank key. I had to remove the key from its housing so Paul can have an easier time & getting more clearance. There was also a pin to lock in the spring (switch-key-type). I said I could've cut the pin so you would have an easier time cutting the key, he declined. As the machines were running, I hear Paul yelling "Ah!'. Indicating that he cut a part of the key too deep. A user error. An employee error. I tried many different ways trying to see if the key would crank. Nothing. It would only go in one-way and the vehicle never turned over. I can visually see the area where Paul made an accident. His exact words were "I was doing too many things at once". I appreciate him admitting his mistake. This key-fob with the switch mechanism costs $70 at Meso Customs. It is a special key with tons of reputability and low supply. AAA Lock & Key didn't even insist on compensating. Makes sense, right? NO GUARANTEES. I understand that. Any key will never cut correctly if you aggressively try to cut it, impatiently, and don't take due-diligence, in your practice, to achieve the best result. They rushed it. They messed up. They admitted. And they said "bye". I could understand a machine error, incompatible blank, but USER/EMPLOYEE error? That's on you & the business. That is not the key blank's fault, not the machine's fault. It's on AAA Lock & Key. The key didn't even look remotely the same as the model key. If you brought your tire to a tire shop, and they destroyed your rim, do you pay for it? They told me to leave the store. I did, respectfully. I never raised my voice or used profanity. Paul's exact words "you got a stick up in you". Please fix your business ethics. I should've looked on Yelp to see all the negative reviews of your business. Never ever coming back. And spreading the word. I hope it was worth it. I do NOT recommend. Apologize for my tone, but you folks suck and you folks should feel bad. I attached photos indicated the mistake in RED. Blue is the part that they didn't even insist on replacing.

Long story short they cost me a$350 repair because of they negligence and poorcommunication they didn't make sense of the work they offer to perform with clear pricing before agreeing to perform work. Thanks for practicing on my car and sending a tech to do a job and telling your customer your sending someone to do another. And not informing hey if a price to begin with . like anyone wouldn't know what diagnose a car meant and yeah I said ok never was a price mentioned. After the tech came here to my home he started doing a copy of a he started doing with my ignition with some silicone glue. He told his tech to do this and not what he told me he was sending someone for, after the tech out that in my ignition when i didn't authorize or watch. I came out the house he is upasked me for $250 I said no. He said what about money for him coming to my house I said didn't anyone ask for money on the phone to come and he told me on the phone someone was coming to diagnose the car, Explained him as I just did above. He immediately went snatched the glue silicone in my ignition out. Left my ignition ruined and needed replaced. They play dumb take your business some where else !

They have been in business for 50 years, so you know they are doing something right! I was in need of duplicate keys for 3 or 4 types of keys, some of which were extra small and extra large, and I wasnt sure that it would be easy to get them copied. I got immediate service and had all my keys in minutes. They then helped me pick terrific color coded markers to keep them all straight, and even put them on for me. While I wasn't shopping for licks or other accessories today, they carry a great variety.
