I am 52 years old and kind of a "diy" kind of guy. I have been in many "orange" stores as well "blue" ones. I am not knocking them in any way. I travel for my job and recently went to Ace Hardware out of convenience. First I went there 2 weeks ago looking for a hand saw that the orange and blue stores did not have. To my surprise they had it! Today I was looking for a rake with the stiff metal tines like your dad or grandpa probably had. Out of habit I went to the "other" stores first but was unsuccessful. I almost forgot about Ace but happened to be driving past and thought I would give it a shot. If course they had it. Not really surprising to me at this point. Most importantly about Ace is their employees. They have the friendliest and most helpful I have met anywhere. The only name I remember from this particular store is Logan. They were all great but he stood out because I talked to him the most. Great personality and a definite asset to this establishment. Ace does great at finding people with a personality to fit the job. Kudos to them, all of their employees, and especially Logan. Btw, this particular store is in Auburn Indiana. I recommend going a little out of your way to shop there when needed.

when a business is open untill 6, normally you would stay open untill the time you’re telling customers you’re open to. it’s not the best for business when you come to a store in a rush to get something 20 minutes before they close and they’ve decided they’re going to close early. not only that but they ignored the calls when we tried calling to ask to come in because they shouldn’t be closed. not impressed. I get it’s a weekend but either way you’re going to be there untill closing time :)

Quality of service has gone down in the past year. Everyone was standing around the cash register half heartedly glancing at incoming customers to ask if they needed anything. I wanted to save money by having me lawnmower blade resharpened. Someone told me they are usually ready in 3 hrs. I come back the next week ready to mow my lawn and now I'm told it may be 2 weeks more before I get my blade back. I wish I would have know before hand how long it would take. I would have just bought a new one had I know how long it takes.
