I dropped by the shop today to replace the battery in my electronic car key. The gentleman at the counter asked me to wait until his customer returned from her car. I was fine waiting, and told him why I had come to the shop. He said he could finish that before the other customer came back. He didn't exaggerate! Very quick, friendly, and professional. The cherry on top? The price was the same as it had been the past few years! This group also came to my rescue a few years back when I locked myself out of my home. They had me inside lickety split! You can't go wrong with Mac's Lock & Key in Bountiful, Utah.

COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS STAY AWAY! We had used Mac's for years in our commercial complex, and over that time they became increasingly difficult to work with. They have held our key chart hostage, and refused to let us access it, as we transition to a new contractor. If you work with them currently, or are forced to work with them, INSIST that you retain possession of the chart, or they will use it against you. We now have to invest thousands of dollars into a new key chart, for absolutely no reason. Their response time was astronomical, with little to no communication or coordination. They would show up for urgent jobs outside of business hours, or with no notice, and leave quickly when maintenance was not on site to respond. Their customer service was very rude and demeaning, and on multiple occasions they would tell us that we didn't have a contract with them, and refused to look for it. I would need to ask for the specific person I normally worked with, and most times he was not there, forcing me to come back on multiple occasions. I personally have used them for personal use as well, and have had the same experience, rude and unhelpful customer service, and long response time. Stay away from this company if you can.

Old school locksmithing, new school programmed keys, all things key related and fair priced. Even some fun bizarre extras that they sell (see photos).

Wish I had worked with the new car dealer for a remote key, it would have only cost $40 more. I purchased a key for a customer of mine that lives out of state. The key did not work once the customer had drove home. I called and spoke to somebody that told me to bring the key back with the original receipt and they would refund me. Took the key in today for a refund after having the customer mail it back. They inspected the key and acknowledged it was cut wrong. They then told me that no one that worked there told me I could receive a refund. After arguing with the Owner and Manager in front of other customers the Owner agreed to offer me half of my money back. The Owner kept yelling from the back of the store "I have a right to eat as well"? I had to buy a new key from the dealer in the mean time. I'm out half the money from the key I bought at Mac's plus the key I bought from the dealer. I wish I had bought the dealer key to begin with. I guess a $90 lesson to never do business with this company again, could have been worse. Enjoy the vibe if you disregard this warning.

Dishonest and outright ridiculous. Murdock Chevrolet down the street will cut your own provided keys for 15 dollars! And can find the fob online for 20. Had brought in my own key and key fob I had purchased online. Store refused to cut my own key claiming "too many issues come back with this, we can only cut our own keys you buy from us" I paid 20 dollars for my key fob and programmed it myself. Just need it cut. When asked how much for their key and cut, it was just about $200 for them. Which tells me you're a greedy company that won't do anything for anybody unless it makes them the most money. Do not use these guys for any reason. Go elsewhere. *message to owner*** If your employee had told me that it was because you didn't make money off of doing that, I wouldn't leave a review. But the obvious lie of "too many issues come back" is asinine.

Do not use. Bait and switch, 2 different techs. Ruined $1500 door. Started yelling at me in my own home. Called me a liar, when I questioned the inflated price. Not American born citizens. The phone number is a call center, and techs are independent workers. Told me $160 was a great price just for the deadbolt not including $300 labor to install. Deadbolt is under $20 at Home Depot. Ck on all reviews not just their own people leaving 5* reviews.

DO NOT CALL YOU WILL GET SCAMMED. Waited 40 minutes when they said 20 for someone to arrive. He then told us he can not make us a key for our car and only get us into our car (which I explained clearly on the phone we had already gotten into the car) So after another 30 minutes of waiting another employee shows up and quotes 250$ +$30 He asked me if i knew if it was a transponder key to which i told him I was certain but he insisted on trying a non-transponder first “to save me money” aka scam me. He then made a non-transponder (20 minutes of waiting ) for him to say it does need a transponder. He then took another 20 to cut a transponder key and said it would be more money for a transponder. This makes sense right it’s a more complicated key. He finished and asked for 370$$$$$$ What??? what happened to 280? He charged another 90$ for the transponder on top of his quote when i told him to the transponder from the beginning. DO NOT CALL. THEIR ARE MUCH CHEAPER PLACES WITH BETTER SERVICE. not to mention the key sucks and doesn’t even work in the car half the time:(((
